[1] I will start by quoting Jesus Christ in the verses shown below.
- Jesus spoke repeatedly to His disciples about taking up their cross (an instrument of death) and following Him. He made it clear that if any would follow Him, they must deny themselves, which means giving up their lives—spiritually, symbolically, and even physically, if necessary. This was a prerequisite for being a follower of Christ, who proclaimed that trying to save our earthly lives would result in our losing our lives in the kingdom.
- But those who would give up their lives for His sake would find eternal life (Matthew 16:24–25; Mark 8:34–35).
- Indeed, Jesus even went so far as to say that those who are unwilling to sacrifice their lives for Him cannot be His disciples (Luke 14:27).
[2] Next, I will use Mathematics to show that we have to become ZERO to reach Infinity.
Let me start with the simple function f(x) = 1/x and the corresponding graph of this function shown below.
- It is simple to understand that, when “x” approaches zero from the right-hand side, the function “f(x)” approaches infinity in a positive direction.
- Likewise, when “x” approaches zero from the left-hand side, the function “f(x)” approaches infinity in a negative direction.
[3] Finally, I conclude that our EGO must approach ZERO to realize God’s INFINITENESS in ourselves.
- This is a daily journey to undertake because Jesus Christ taught us this lesson in very practical ways. I just used Mathematics to prove that we can do it!
- There is no need to be part of any big group or church because Jesus Christ only wants deeply committed people to be His disciples. He does not need large numbers of people but He certainly is looking for resolute disciples. We can surely do this and be true followers of Jesus Christ by throwing away all our hypocrisy and being true to Him and ourselves.
