I would like to honor Monacha (My Senior Cousin – a.k.a. Dr. Mathew Cherian) in this special post. Monacha has been my guide and mentor since 2002 and he has provided so much help to me in times of the many crises I went through over the years. He has also provided a lot of encouragement whenever I have called him. We have a communication channel through Skype and we have been speaking to each other almost on a daily basis.
Monacha and his wife (Tina) visited our home in East Moline in 2008. We had a wonderful time together. Monacha is the first son of my uncle Dr. K. M. Cherian (Veliapapa), who is the older brother of my father (Dr. K. M. George).
Monacha and his wife (Tina) are well settled in Australia. They have similar interests in life and used to work together in the same clinic owned by Monacha.
Monacha has 3 younger sisters who live in their home in Malaysia. I like to refer to Monacha’s sisters as the “ASE” team because their first names are Anne, Suzy and Elsie respectively and in the order of their ages. The “ASE” team and Monacha along with Tina and their grandchildren had a wonderful set of gatherings and fellowship meetings in Malaysia that concluded on May-28-2023.
May God bless all of them! I fervently believe that the family gathering in Malaysia must have been an extraordinary experience for all of the participants.
